• Day 01 Pick up from Colombo International Airport and driven Chilove, Visit Munneshwaram and Manwaary temples.
  • Day 02 At Trincomalee –Transfer to Trincomalee, Hot water spring and Koneshwaram.

DAY 1 - Chelaw

Towards the northwestern coast lies the large fishing town, Chilaw, exhibiting a multicultural ambience with many religious sites and a friendly atmosphere. According to the Ramayana, the Manavari temple had been the first temple with the lingam installed and worshipped by Lord Rama, hence it is called the Ramalinga Shivan. Accompanied by five other temples, including a Buddhist temple Munesswaram is located in the Tamil Division of the region. The grand celebrations of the festivals include the Munesswaram Festival, Navarathri and Sivarathri with all Hindu and Buddhists all over the island taking part.

DAY 2 - Trincomalee

Set off early morning from northwest to northeast into the magnificently architectured coastal city Trincomalee, built on a peninsula with a higher population of the Sri Lankan Tamil Speaking culture. Five major spots of the Ramayana resides in the vicinity. The medieval Hindu classical temple Thiru Koneswaram is famed for being built by the Lord Shiva for its strong devotee, Ravana and the Shankari Devi Shakthi temple lying close by, built by King Ravana in respect. The temples Vilundri, Kanniyai, Vattapalai are three other famous pilgrim sites.

DAY 3 - Kandy

At Kandy

Traveling to the central highlands, the most significant city and the holiest place in Sri Lanka, Kandy is the final destination of the Ramayana tour. Visit the temple of the Tooth Relic along with the famous temples; Gadaladeniya, Lankatilaka and Embekke. The Sri Lankan Buddhists and Tamil Hindus are closely connected; having a Devale at every Buddhist temple promotes the connectivity more.

DAY 4 - Nuwara Eliya / Ella

Touring to the higher lands, land where Sita was held captive locked up in caves by King Ravana. Many temples built by King Ravana, Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman stand to date. Namely Seetha Amman Temple, Diurumpola Temple, Gayathri Peedam, and Sri Bhakthi Hanuman Temple are some of the many in Nuwara Eliya. Traveling to the mountainous village- Ella, claims to home three other locations of the Ramayana. King Ravana has said to have hid Sita in the Ravanna Ella Cave and at Badulla, the largest shrine in the vicinity is of Lord Murugan, worshipped by the minority group of Sri Lankan Tamils and Buddhists in the area.

DAY 5 - Kataragama

Drive to the southern lower lands away from the cold thick forestry to a hotter and dry savannah like land. Enjoy a get away from the long Ramayana tour, an evening safari at the Yala National Park in the wilderness as the day breaks. A number of wild beasts inhabit the Park, including wild Elephants, Panthers, Leopards and Bears with many more endemic fauna.

DAY 6 - Colombo

Touring back to the western coast, the last destination of the tour is the Commercial hub Colombo. The busy, vibrant city is the most cosmopolitan region in the country. Await for an unforgettable experience as the tour ends whilst touring the city’s vicinity and shopping.
